SpaceX initiates its inaugural Starlink mission on the West Coast for the year 2026.
SpaceX has successfully executed its first Starlink mission of the year from the West Coast, aiming to deploy its satellites into a polar low Earth orbit.

The Starlink 17-30 mission introduces 25 Starlink V2 Mini Optimized satellites to the expanding megaconstellation. This marks SpaceX’s sixth Starlink mission in 2026.

The launch took place at 9:47:29 p.m. PST (12:47:29 a.m. EST / 0547:29 UTC) from Space Launch Complex 4 East at Vandenberg Space Force Base. The rocket followed a southerly path immediately after liftoff.

For this mission, SpaceX utilized the Falcon 9 first stage booster, tail number 1093. This flight was its 10th, following two missions for the Space Development Agency and seven previous Starlink satellite deployments.

Just over eight minutes post-launch, B1093 successfully landed on the drone ship, ‘Of Course I Still Love You,’ stationed in the Pacific Ocean. This achievement marks the 172nd landing on this ship and the 562nd orbital booster landing for SpaceX.
